ÓLEOS SOBRE LIENZO

PORTRAITS FROM THE BACK

Presenting my body of work, “Portraits from the Backs,” is a deeply introspective and transformative experience for me. This series, realized in large-format oil paintings, explores the unseen narratives and quiet strength of individuals through the unique perspective of their backs. By focusing on this often-overlooked angle, I aim to evoke a sense of mystery, vulnerability, and universal humanity. The scale of the works invites viewers to immerse themselves in the textures, shadows, and subtle details that tell stories without revealing faces. For me, these paintings are a meditation on identity, connection, and the beauty of the unseen.

They challenge conventional portraiture and encourage a deeper reflection on how we perceive and relate to one another.

This collection is a testament to my artistic evolution and my ongoing exploration of the human experience.

PORTRAITS FROM THE BACK

MARCHANTAS DEL MERCADO MUNICIPAL DE GRANADA.

With this body of work “Marchantas del Mercado,” I am deeply inspired by the vibrant lives of the women who fill the Municipal market of Granada , Nicaragua with their strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit. These oil paintings are my tribute to their daily labor, their laughter, and their role as the backbone of their communities. Through bold colors and textured brushstrokes, I strive to capture not just their physical presence but also the soul of the markets—the rhythm of life, the exchange of stories, and the rich cultural heritage they embody.

For me, these paintings are more than art; they are a celebration of identity, tradition, and the enduring power of women who turn ordinary spaces into places of extraordinary significance.
